This is a once in a blue moon painting for me as I don’t create many landscape pieces just for the sake of it, but over the years this has been one of my favourite spots in the world to just sit and absorb the beauty of nature. In June of 2022 I took a trip down there to see if I could capture the essence of that spot with a little outdoor painting. I put together a short YouTube video describing that wonderful summer day. Although the bugs were something to contend with, I got what I wanted so I could finish up the details in my studio. This is the end result of that day, a 9X12 oil on panel inspired by that awesome spot in the Alberta foothills.
