While on a jet boat trip one day in early autumn we spotted something standing alone on the river bank ahead. As the boat neared we realized that it was a lone timber wolf. Slowing the boats engine we drifted by, it just stood there and watched us curiously. It was a remarkable moment as the wolf gave us a chance to observe it temporarily instead of just bolting for the safety of the tree-line. That experience provided the inspiration for this painting titled "WOLF CREEK".
