Every now and then something comes along to inspire poets, writers, painters and musicians to create new works. Being somewhat of a cloud-gazer at heart, I was certainly not immune to the effects of this astrological wonder that came along in 1997, the comet Hale-Bopp. It was one of those times when we all became amateur astronomers for a while. This painting of two timber wolves was my own personal way of marking this time in our history and to pay tribute to a comet that won't come this way again for some 3000 years.
