Several years ago I created a piece titled “A Better Look” which portrayed a coyote on a round bale that got some pretty good feedback at one of my exhibits. I felt the need to revisit that composition ever since but with a red fox as the main actor instead. The fox's tawny coloured fur was perfect to contrast against the cool shadows in the background. Having witnessed this scene a few times on our own round bales I had a pretty easy time visualizing this composition.
