I used a concept called selective focus in this 16 X 14 oil titled “Pair of Sevens”. This technique used by Rembrandt put all the emphasis on the subject by using strong light and shadow. Many of the old masters used this approach in their portraiture work and was just the ticket to bring this handsome 7 X 7 bull elk to life.
